Intervista al prof. Nesti sul convegno a Monteriggioni

Abbiamo intervistato il prof. Nesti chiedendogli di presentarci il primo convegno di Monteriggioni, dal titolo Rito e ricerca di senso nell’universo femminile, all’interno del quale si terrà il concerto di Giovanna Marini.
Professor Nesti, qual è il significato di un questo evento?

Ci sono più ragioni a motivare questo primo Convegno che vede associati gli assessorati alle Pari Opportunità dei comuni di Siena e di Monteriggioni.
La prima è per richiamare il senso e il valore dell’universo femminile tenendo conto della data dell’8 marzo.
La seconda è per riandare alla nostra storia e quindi al messaggio di grandi figure locali, proprio in località così ricca di richiami storico-culturali, e quindi per risituarsi nel segno di una grande figura femminile locale e cioè Ava Zenobi dei Lombardi.
La terza, in modo particolare perché in questo territorio contrassegnato da spazi consacrati da costruttori di basiliche, da strade storiche battute da pellegrini, da generazioni di donne e di uomini testimoni e protagonisti di una singolare trama culturale di civiltà, si possano riattivare, in un tempo di grandi mutazioni e di pluralismo culturale nuovi e significativi tempi di ricerca di senso e di valori.


Ma non c’è il rischio di affrontare in modo per così dire provinciale delle tematiche di carattere così complesso?

Non mancano motivi per pensare che viviamo in un momento di grandi appiattimenti, di relativismo sotto lo stimolo dominante del mercato e dell’individualismo anonimizzante. Non se ne esce con il fare appello a pretese autoritarie unilaterali, a modelli populistici quasi rimpiangendo, acriticamente, il “buon tempo passato” quasi fosse il felice tempo che fu, confondendo emozioni e realtà.
Questo convegno intende porsi contro corrente e si svolge proprio in questi spazi suggestivi, perché intende avvalersi dell’apporto delle memorie, del colore, dei saperi, dei suoni del passato per contribuire a ritessere nuove sensibilità, nuova socialità, per stimolare la ricerca di nuovi significati, di nuovi valori, direi per reinventare nuovi simboli e nuovi riti nel nostro mondo, nel nostro tempo.


Come si pone rispetto alla tesi dello scontro di civiltà?

Più che tempo di “guerra di civiltà” questo è tempo in cui la nostra civiltà, il nostro Occidente, come in altri significativi tempi, è chiamato non a chiudersi nel suo narcisismo, ma ad aprirsi e confrontarsi, ad arricchirsi. Un ruolo centrale spetta al mondo femminile, proprio per affrontare grandi sfide che investono la soggettività, il femminile. Un universo femminile alimentato dalla solidarietà, dall’attenzione al diverso e all’alterità costituisce una singolare risorsa per tutta la nostra società.
Mi auguro che sia coronato da successo anche per l’apporto oltre che dei validi illustri relatori, per la graditissima presenza di una figura storica del canto popolare, Giovanna Marini. Il suo intervento al mattino e più ancora la serata del 10 daranno corpo a suggestioni e ad evocazioni di grande fascino.
